What does this intervention involve?
Background
For diffuse liver disease diagnosis or focal lesion characterization.
Procedure
Under local anesthesia and imaging guidance, a needle is inserted through the abdominal wall. Duration: 15-30 minutes.
Risks
Bleeding, pain, pneumothorax, organ injury.
Recovery
4-6 hour observation. Same-day discharge if uncomplicated.
Practical information
Local anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
