What does this intervention involve?
Background
Pure or predominantly cystic thyroid nodule recurring after simple aspiration. Procedure: US-guided aspiration then ethanol injection for a few minutes before re-aspiration. Duration: 10-20 minutes. Risks: Local pain, voice change (rare), local fibrosis. Recovery: Immediate return to activities. US control at 1-3 months.
Practical information
General anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
