What does this intervention involve?
Background
Suspicious thyroid nodule per EU-TIRADS criteria. Procedure: US-guided fine needle (FNA) or core biopsy. Duration: 10-15 minutes. Risks: Local pain, small cervical hematoma, infection (very rare). Recovery: Immediate. Cytology results in a few days (Bethesda classification).
Practical information
Local anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
