What does this intervention involve?

Background

Filter should be retrieved once the indication resolves.

Procedure

Recovery catheter via jugular vein captures the filter hook. Duration: ~30 minutes. Advanced techniques may be needed if tilted/embedded.

Risks

Filter fracture during retrieval, venous injury, migration. Retrieval failure in 5-10%.

Recovery

Same-day discharge.

Local anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
