What does this intervention involve?
Background
Malignant bile duct stenosis for palliation, or refractory benign stenosis.
Procedure
Via existing transhepatic access, stent positioned and deployed at stenosis. Duration: 30 min-1 hour.
Risks
Stent obstruction, migration, cholangitis, hemobilia.
Recovery
External drain removed after stent function verification.
Practical information
Local anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
