What does this intervention involve?
Background
Performed to evaluate venous stenoses, deep venous patency, plan venous stenting, or locate veins before vascular access.
Procedure
Contrast injected into peripheral/central vein with X-ray imaging.
Risks
Contrast allergy, puncture site phlebitis.
Recovery
Outpatient, immediate results.
Practical information
Local anesthesia. Outpatient procedure (return home the same day).
